I took the kids shopping for a few hours today. They had fun going to all their favorite stores together. Matthew was a trooper as he tagged along with the shopping beauty queens! We ate lunch in the eatery at Hot Dog On A Stick!Thursday, June 26, 2008

Swimming & Baseball!
Summer just wouldn't be summer without swimming and baseball. The kids have been swimming everyday with their cousins. Today was the warmest day yet and they stayed in the pool most of the afternoon.
This afternoon when Steve got home from work he took the kids into the court and pitched some balls to them so that they could practice their baseball skills. Tonight for combined Young Men and Young Women's they had a baseball game and BBQ and the kids wanted to be practiced up for the big game! Matthew looked like a pro smacking the ball and Sierra was a great catcher!Kayaking!
Mackenzie and Brooklyn finished their kayaks on Monday night so last night Steve took them over to Silverlake to see if their kayaks would float! And they did! Looks like they did a great job building them.
Brooklyn, Sierra and Kia kayaking around Silverlake. This lake is only about 3 minutes from our house! What a gorgeous day for kayaking!

Cousin Time Is The Best Time!
Yesterday Sierra flew in from Utah to spend the week with us. Mackenzie and Brooklyn made a poster to welcome her to Washington!Last night we had 2 more visitors come to visit us! Alan is here on business for a couple of days so he brought Matthew with him. Yeah...another cousin means an even bigger P A R T Y!!!
Today we drove over to Boeing and Steve took us on a tour of the flight line. While we were there we got to see the Dreamlifter airplane that carries parts for the new airplane. We also got to see a Japan Airlines airplane do some tests on the runway and then take off.
This afternoon we took the Mukilteo ferry over to Clinton. The kids had fun feeding the seaguls popcorn! Look close and you can see a piece of popcorn floating up in the air towards the seagul!
We took this picture on the ferry as we were leaving Mukilteo. The Mukilteo lighthouse is in the background.

Summer Piano Recital

Mackenzie and Brooklyn had their summer piano recital this morning. Over the past couple of months hey have been working hard to learn and perfect their pieces and today was a big pay day for them. They both did amazingly well.
Mackenzie has been playing the piano for 8 years and Brooklyn for 6 years now. They have an awesome piano teacher and really enjoy going to their lessons each week. At the recital today their teacher Nancy recognized a few students and Mackenzie and Brooklyn were both given the "Best Outstanding Student" award. Nice job Mackenzie and Brooklyn! We are sure proud of you.Sunday, June 15, 2008

8th Grade Graduation Dance
Kayak Building

What do you do on the weekend when it's raining, cold and cloudy in Washington? How about build kayaks in the garage? Well that's what we did last week while Grandma and Grandpa Smith were here visiting. Mackenzie and Brooklyn had a great time building their own kayaks with help from Steve and Grandpa Smith. Tonight the girls are painting them so that we can finish them up to take to our family reunion camping trip in a couple of weeks.
