Last Saturday we went down to Puyallup (about an hour and 20 minute drive south) to take Brooklyn to visit one of her friends, Hunter. She met Hunter last summer at a church youth camp - EFY. They have kept in contact this whole time via text messages, phone calls and face time. Hunter was in a school play Saturday night so we decided to make a day of it and go see his play while we were down there.
We arrived at Hunters house around 1:00. We met his parents and visited for a bit and then left Brooklyn there while Steve and I ran to the mall to do some shopping. While Brooklyn was there Hunter sent her on a scavenger hunt around the house and yard with different clues. The last clue sent her to a big tree and behind the tree was Hunter holding this poster.
There is an upcoming Mormon Prom dance in Issaquah the middle of April that he asked her too. Brooklyn was so excited. She of course told him yes right then and there!
That afternoon we went out to an early dinner with Hunter, his parents and Brooklyn. It was fun to get to know Hunter better and to meet his wonderful family. After dinner we went to see Hunter in his school play "Guys and Dolls". It was excellent and he did a great job.
Brooklyn thought it would be fun to surprise Hunter with a formal reply to his question, "Prom with Me?" so we put together this fun little package and mailed it to him today.
We purchased a plastic Easter bucket and filled it with Easter grass, Easter candy and 48 brightly colored "Peeps". On the bottom of 6 Peeps Brooklyn wrote: "Y E S ! ! !". Then we mixed them in with all the other Peeps. She wrote this cute little note and packed it up and we shipped it to him today.
Brooklyn is really looking forward to going to Prom with Hunter. We are sure happy for Brooklyn. Hunter seems like a great young man and we know that they will have a lot of fun together. Looking forward to posting pictures of their fun date.
