Swm Finals & Last Marching Band Compettion

We had a busy weekend but definitely a fun weekend. On Wednesday Grandpa and Grandma Smith drove up from Northern California to visit.  It was a fun week to have them here.

Thursday night we went to watch Brooklyn swim in the district prelims. She did amazing on her 100 yard backstroke and qualified to move on to finals.

On Saturday we went back to the pool to watch Brooklyn swim in the district finals.
After the meet we took this picture of the girls who made it to districts.
While my mom and dad were here they helped me make 40 rice krispie treat bears (our high school mascot is a bear) for Brooklyn to give to her teammates that went to districts. Steve helped by writing on each bear using red frosting. He wrote CHS (Cascade High School) on the bears tummy along with a nose and some swim goggles. They turned out so cute. We also made 15 of them for Mackenzie to take with her to her last marching band practice to give to her Melophone section and to the band director and assistants. Here is a picture of my mom and I putting the bears into bags and tying them with ribbon.
Saturday evening after Brooklyn's swim meet we drove to Auburn to watch Mackenzie march in a band competition. It was the last competition for this season and was also Mackenzie's last time to march in high school. There were 28 bands in the competition and Cascade took 2nd place. Nice job Cascade Sound and Mackenzie Kay!
It was fun having my mom and dad here so they could go with us to watch Mackenzie march.
After the competition there was a lot of hugs and good-byes. We will really miss the band competitions and watching Mackenzie march. It's been a fun 4 years being apart of the awesome band program at Cascade.
