Last night we threw Brooklyn a Sweet 16 birthday party. The party theme was "Mission Impossible." A few weeks ago Steve and Brooklyn made a DVD together for the invitation to her party. Click on the link below to see the video they made.

Here are a few pictures of Brooklyn and her friends from the party.
When the kids arrived we had pizza and soda and then they played this fun "name" game.
Around 7:30 we kicked off the "Mission Impossible" treasure hunt by dividing the kids into three different groups. Here is Brooklyn's team.
The treasure hunt started off with a DVD that Steve had made to explain what they needed to know to help them find the "eye of the sphinx" ruby, which had been stolen from from the King Tut Treasures Museum display on their easy from Cairo, Egypt to Seattle . (I am sure you all know the King Tut treasures will be on display in Seattle starting in May...) Each group was given a brief case with things they would need to solve the various clues and included Egyptian decoder rings, invisible ink restorer, a Bible, pencils and a flashlight. The groups got their first clue as soon as they all got into the car with their chauffeur for the evening. Three great parents of the kids agreed to be the drivers - thanks Janae, Mike and Scott!
One of the clues took them to the golf driving range. Each team member had to hit 5 golf balls each before I would give them their next clue.

One of Brooklyn's friends, Jackson, gave Brooklyn a Ken Barbie doll. On the outside of the package he wrote, "Now that you are 16 years old I got you your first date"! What a great gift. We all got a good laugh out of that.
Brooklyn opening the gifts from her friends. She got a lot of fun gifts and gift cards! A big thanks to all her friends who came and helped us celebrate Brooklyn's 16th Birthday.
