Spring Break 2012 - So Cal

For spring break we headed down to So Cal for 10 days. The first two days we were there we went to Disneyland and California Adventure park.
 Family picture with Mickey!
The tea cup ride was the only ride that Steve refused to go on with us. Mackenzie and Brooklyn made our cup spin so fast. It was so much fun.

While we were in California Adventure park we ran into one of Mackenzie and Brooklyn's friends - Kc and his family who live down in the Snohomish valley. Kc has been away at college so we haven't seen him in a while. It was fun to see our girls with him again. They went on a couple of rides with him and had a blast.
These two girls were a lot of fun to hang out with at Disneyland. They still get so excited going to Disneyland and that made our visit to the "Happiest Place on Earth" even happier!
One day we rented beach cruisers and rode from Newport beach to the Balboa Island ferry and took the small ferry over to Balboa Island and rode around. It's such a cute little Island with beautiful houses. This is something that Steve and I enjoyed doing when we lived down in So Cal.
Brooklyn turned 16 years old while we were down there. The night before her birthday Steve, Mackenzie and I decorated our hotel room with a banner and balloons and wrapped a few gifts we had brought with us to give to her. She was so excited when she woke up on her birthday to see the decorations and gifts.
My brother Alan and his wife Lisa and their family were down in So Cal for spring break too so we had fun hanging out with them. On Brooklyn's birthday we met them at a pizza place for dinner.
Brooklyn got an iTouch for her birthday. Here she is with her cousin Kathryn.
We spent a lot of our afternoon time at the pool at my brothers Marriott condo. It was beautiful and the weather was perfect. We enjoyed reading our books and laying in the sun. Check out these two cute girls in their new swim suits!
Steve and Alan had fun playing tennis together. They played 3 days while we were there while the rest of us layed out at the pool.. We saw two movies while we were down there. "Hunger Games" and "Mirror Mirror". It's always fun to go to the movies while on vacation.
One day we went to Newport beach and Steve, Brooklyn, my brother Alan and his two boys Jacob and Matthew took surfing lessons. It was fun to be on the same beach as they were so we could watch them.
Heading out to give it a try!
Surfer girl Brooklyn.
Brooklyn's up!

And Steve is up too!

Group shot with their 3 instructors.
One day we went to Crystal Cove beach in Corona Del Mar and had fun laying on the beach and looking at the tide pools. Cousin picture!
Brooklyn, Matthew, Uncle Alan, Kathryn and Jacob playing ball in the pool.
Our last night there we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner.
And it's tradition to take a final "foot" picture whenever we are with them. So here is our "foot" picture inside Cheesecake Factory!
We got home the afternoon of Easter Sunday..Luckily the Easter bunny had made a visit to our house before we got home. Here is a picture of  Mackenzie and Brooklyn after they searched the house to find their Easter baskets. I'm so glad my girls love holidays as much as I do and refuse to grow up!

We sure had a great time down in So Cal. It was nice to be in the warm sunshine again and to visit some of our favorite places and see some of our friends from when we lived down there. It was especially fun to be able to hang out with my brother Alan and his fun family.
