Heading to Utah for the Wedding

The week of the wedding Mackenzie left for Utah with her best friend Heidi. They first stopped off in in Idaho to pick up all of Mackenzie's stuff she had in storage from college. Steve and I left on Wednesday with a U-Haul trailer pulling behind us with all of the wedding gifts and all of Mackenzie's clothes and belongings. It was so weird to pack up her room for good. Brooklyn stayed home to go to one more day of school and drove to Utah with my good friends Sarah and Kim.
Here we are at a rest stop with our little U-Haul pulling behind us!
A few days before the wedding my good friend Nancy arranged to have someone curl Mackenzie's hair to practice for the wedding day. Here we are all gathered around the bride to be!
One night we took Mackenzie and Heidi out to dinner to Brick Oven Pizza. One of our favorite restaurants in Utah!
The day before the wedding the girls went to get manicures and pedicures.
And while we were getting nails and hair done my family was busy getting food ready for the reception. Here are my mom and dad cutting 15 pineapples, 2 containers of grapes for the chicken salad and slicing 10 cucumbers! I hope when I'm 80 years old I'll have as much energy as my mom and dad! They are amazing.
My sister Julie made the fruit and veggie dip. And my sister in law Pat bought all the rest of the food the day of the wedding. We had so much help it was amazing. I had three friends from Washington come to Utah to help. We could not have done this without everyone's help.
The night before the wedding we were invited by the grooms family up to Bountiful for a family dinner. My mom and dad went with us too. It was nice to finally meet Ian's parents and siblings. We had a nice evening getting to know them better and enjoying a nice meal together at one of Ian's relatives houses.

After we got back to out hotel that night Steve gave Mackenzie a beautiful fathers blessing. My mom and dad were there for it as well. The blessing was beautiful and there was such a peaceful, sweet feeling there. After the blessing my brother Gregg called and invited us to go to Leatherby's with them for ice cream. Mackenzie decided she'd better stay at the hotel and get ready for her big day. But the rest of us went out for ice cream! It was so yummy and so fun to be out with some of my family.
