Brooklyn, Brooklyn, how will your garden grow?

Yesterday Brooklyn and Steve worked on a fun project together. For one of Brooklyn's Young Women Value projects at church she decided to plant a garden and then will care for it and harvest the vegetables and fruits from it. Friday night Steve and Brooklyn took a trip to Home Depot to pick up the wood for the garden boxes and all the seeds and plants for her garden. Yesterday they made 3 garden boxes, put them together, painted them, filled them with dirt and planted the garden. They planted tomatoes, green beans, carrots and strawberries in the grow boxes. They are also started some cantaloupe and pumpkins seeds inside that they will later transplant to the back corner of the yard. The project took them most of the day but they had fun together. Yes, Brooklyn did use the power miter box saw, but was wearing both eye and ear protection at the time - unlike this posed picture taken by Mackenzie.

Nice job Brooklyn! We can hardly wait until the fruits and vegetables grow so you can harvest them and we can eat them for dinner! Yum Yum Yum!
